OUR MISSION

"To Develop, promote and grow business and tourism in Hammond & Chippewa Bay, NY"

"To develop, promote and grow business and tourism in Hammond & Chippewa Bay, NY."

WHO ARE WE?

The “Business & Economic Development Group of Hammond & Chippewa Bay” serves as a volunteer organization, whose purpose is to nurture and promote business recognition, growth and development in the Hammond & Chippewa Bay region.  We are now at a cross roads in Hammond and the North Country, with a huge opportunity to come together as operating businesses to expand both the awareness of our existence and our client base.  Our initial goal was to establish this website, to provide exposure to the multiple businesses, organizations and attractions in our valued area.  We are very confident that this website will: act as the one stop location for town-wide economic promotion & development, add value to all of our local businesses and help encourage tourism and local commerce in our community.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

The Business & Economic Development Group’s activities are based on the following guiding principles:
  • To promote business in an ethical and fair manner
  • To make all business decisions for the overall betterment of our community
  • To protect & advocate our natural resources

FOUNDERS

Co-Founded by Erica Demick of Vintage Doors and Michael Stock of River Bay Adventure Inn, in July 2011.

Welcome to Hammond, NY

A Small Town with Big Character

Over the years I've gone from "can't wait to leave this country town" to moving back to raise our family in this small town, with a small school ... and even a small flock of chickens in front of the Citizen's National Bank of Hammond today.  Yeah ... this is MY town and I love it ... and yes, debit cards are also just catching up (novel idea, eh) ... although a lot of business transactions around here can still be done the old fashioned way ... based upon your word and a handshake not plastic!"
